Silver smiting by Hiroshi Suzuki

Here is an artist i have chosen to write a blog about. i must document their work and state my thoughts about it.

This piece of silverware is by Hiroshi Suzuki.
Suzuki works away at metals with out any real planning. he feels the shapes and unlike many silversmiths he dose not hammer on wooded or metal molds. Instead he chisels, cuts and hammers away at his metals to form his work.

He says that he has a very strong relationship with the metals he uses. the waves and lines in his work are meant to be organic and flowing, like something natural.

I chose this photo because he mostly works with silver, and, to see one that was gold in colour just made it all the more interesting. I do like his work as it is very easy to look at and it is pleasing to the eye.
I imagine that it is very tactile too.
this piece kind of reminds me of the domes on the Kremlin in Moscow.
